Sylvia Carón's uncompromising attention to detail is her signature
trademark. She views her pottery as a canvas for the intricate
designs and textures she incorporates into her decorative work. Closely
studying the architectural beauty of nature, she creates detailed relief in a
variety of botanical forms, including pine cones, leaves and
flowers.
Sylvia's penchant for primarily creating functional ware has led
her to recognize that utility and art are not exclusive of one another.
It gives her such pleasure and satisfaction to hear that her pieces are not
just displayed, but used daily. "I love the tangible personal
connection to the user of my ware--hands to hands."
"It is my intent to provide you with a functional, yet
artistic, piece of pottery that will give you enjoyment for years to
come". Each piece of Carón pottery is wheel thrown/hand-built and
hand decorated durable stoneware. All glazes are certified lead-free and
food-safe.
Note: Prices are purposely not listed, as this site is used as a
tool to display the style of Sylvia's work to interested viewers. All
pieces shown are one of a kind and may already be sold. Most work is custom
designed in collaboration with the customer and prices are quoted accordingly.
